Welcome to New Buckenham Parish Council
New Buckenham Parish Council is the first tier of local government in the village.
Most local public services are provided by Breckland District or Norfolk County Council, but the Parish Council is the closest to the people it represents. Confusingly its local council is called a "Parish Council" even though it is separate from the parish church of St Martins, (which has a parochial church council to look after its internal affairs). The Parish Council is responsible for the children's play area, allotments and cemetery. It is also maintains the closed churchyard of St Martin's Church.
This website is mainly about the work of the Parish Council, providing residents and others a window into its workings and providing a place for interested parties to scrutinise the various documents and records we keep. There is much other excellent information available about New Buckenham on the Village and Village Hall websites, to which you will find links both here and at appropriate places on this website.
A particular issue at present for the Village is the Neighbourhood Plan, which is being developed by a working group of volunteers, including Parish Councillors. For further information please go to the dedicated Neighbourhood Plan website or facebook page, which can also be accessed via the main menu at the top of this page.
If you have any comments on how to improve the website or have any issues with obtaining information then please contact the Clerk (details here)
